New this year includes large canvasses inspired by river walks, learning to swim and garden flowers. I will also have a new selection of cards of some of my popular landscape paintings.
In March 2018 I put together a selection of my work in a new exhibition at the Fisher Theatre in Bungay which was a beautiful space to see the work in. It was wonderful to be able to see my work including the larger pieces displayed in such light and airy surroundings.
Growing up in a household immersed in the pottery making process, my love of drawing was always encouraged. I graduated from Dartington College of Arts in 1987, with a diploma in Art and Design in the Social Contexts and Sheffield City Polytechnic in 1990 with a Fine Art Painting honours degree. I trained as a teacher in the early 1990s while working towards a qualification in Art Psychotherapy. I have been working as an art therapist for 20 years while developing my art making. Studying for an MA Res in Art Psychotherapy in 2012 rekindled my love of life drawing and expressive mark-making.
I joined the Harleston and Waveney Art Trail in 2014. I paint, draw, print, experiment and show work in my small garden studio summer house; the garden has been carefully landscaped to maximise space and light for the studio.
