Nicola Eastell – Pastel Artist
Born in South Norfolk, I have always had a close affinity with animals, particularly horses and dogs. Painting them both just seemed a natural thing to do, and having owned a few ponies and horses and numerous dogs I am very familiar with the conformation and behaviour of these wonderful creatures. I am predominantly an equestrian artist but I am just as happy painting dogs. Being self taught I have experimented with several styles and applications but have always come back to my first love…. pastels. I love the immediacy of pastels and also the way that layering can build another different but almost sculptural quality to my work. I can bore for hours on the quality of this fabulous medium!

From B1332 turn off towards Bedingham/Topcroft (big sign here directing to Topcroft Fishing Lakes). Follow without turning off for about 3 miles, passing Bedingham Church, along Low Road and into Topcroft Street. Carry on to T junction and turn right into Barford Road, around a l/h bend. You will see ahead of you a bend to the right but we are just before this on the left down an unmade track.

From A140 turn off towards Hempnall. Go through Hempnall and take 1st turning (on right) toward Alburgh. Follow this road without turning, through Hempnall Green and passing Three Horseshows pub. Continue for another mile or so until you see a l/h turning to Topcroft. Turn here into Barford Road and continue for about half a mile until you come to a sharp l/h bend. We are just around this bend on the right.

From A143 turn off at Tunbeck Road and follow through Alburgh. Keep going without turning off for 4 miles until you see Barford Road on your right. Turn here and follow for about half a mile to sharp left hand bend. We are just around this bend on your right down an unmade track.
