Malcolm Cudmore
Between 20th July and 29th September 2024 (the last 72 days of my 72nd year!) I did a painting a day. The paintings were either 6” x 12” or 8” x 9” (72 square inches)! Many of these paintings (all oil on panel) will be shown in my studio in 2025. They were mostly painted locally and can be purchased with or without frames.
STATEMENT
I am a figurative artist – a realist – generally working directly from my own observations. I aim to communicate something of how I feel about each subject while concentrating on the discipline of direct drawing and painting (“alla prima”) from life. I regularly paint the East Anglian landscape (in particular the Waveney and Blyth Valleys) including compositions that may also feature figures and animals in a natural setting.
Life drawing has always been a part of my regular practice. Life studies and drawings are always available for purchase from a browser in my studio. There will also be a range of unframed pictures available as “studio clearance” – as well as greetings cards reproduced from my original artwork.
