Rosie Andersen

Rosie Andersen is an artist and author living in South Norfolk. Prior to life taking a more artistic direction, Rosie worked as a therapist and trainer in private practice, prisons, hospices, and with people of all ages in community projects. Rosie is also a published author of three fables. Her intriguing stories inspired by the Suffolk landscape, weave magical tales of mystery, myths and history interwoven with nature and nurture at their heart.

“After a long period away from creative projects, I returned to my art and bookbinding work in 2020. Following many months of experimenting and brushing up on skills, I began to combine hand-dyed silks with the binding of journals and sketchbooks, and in the process discovered new ways of working and fine-tuning techniques. I have since discovered the genre of bookart or artists’ books. This is where the artwork is placed within a book-type structure. I am very inspired by the colours and textures within wild landscapes; the coast and skies, but also the history and geology of place. I love to experiment with different medium – acrylics, watercolours, inks and dyes; from my own hand-marbled, mono, gel-printed and collaged papers to textiles, painting, stitch and cyanotypes.”
