I am a figurative artist – a realist – generally working directly from my own observations. I aim to communicate something of how I feel about each subject while concentrating on the discipline of direct drawing and painting (“alla prima”) from life. I regularly paint the East Anglian landscape (in particular the Waveney and Blyth Valleys) including compositions that may also feature figures and animals in a natural setting. Some of my studio paintings include aspects of memory, allegory and narrative. A few of the paintings from my 2015 project “64 pictures in 64 days” will still be available for purchase. There will be a selection of figure drawings – and a small number of pictures will also be available as “studio clearance”. Greetings cards and prints taken from my original pictures will also be available.
My studio is usually open from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm throughout the whole week of the Art Trail in addition to the regular weekends. Please note that the studio is not accessible to wheelchairs.
