Art in the Harleston and Waveney Valley

HWAT: Open Studios 2020

IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE

“We really regret having no choice but to cancel this year’s Harleston and Waveney Art Trail in May. These are unprecedented circumstances, and we know we must do our bit to limit the spread of the Corona virus pandemic in the region. After 15 years of continuous annual Art Trails in our special part of the Waveney Valley, it will be strange to not welcome the public to our studios this year. In a region famed for its artists, we are proud of the particular identity we have developed over the last 15 years for varied and high quality artwork and we’ll miss our regular visitors. Many of our members are freelance and rely on sales of their work and tuition. Although we’ll all feel the pinch, there will be ample opportunity to create new work and we will be back – bright, healthy and raring to go – in 2121. At this time, we are still planning to go ahead with our large group show in Norwich in October and the whole group is focusing its efforts on a new book, featuring our work and studios to be published later in the year. Please go to the HWAT website for up to date information or to contact any of the individual Trail artists – www.hwat.org.uk”

Malcolm Cudmore – Chair, HWAT

HWAT is a collective of professional artists living and working together as a Collective within a small and defined area of the Waveney Valley.  We are a selected group maintaining quality and high standards within a variety of disciplines. We open our studios to the public annually, offering works for sale, and generating interest and understanding between the local community, the artists and makers.

You can download the 2020 HWAT Brochure [PDF, 4 MB]. Although the Corona virus crisis occurred just before we went to print, the design was complete and gives you an up to date guide to all the artists who were planning to open in 2020.

We offer particular thanks to all our sponsors and advertisers who had committed to support the brochure this year. Their details are listed on a separate page added under the Trail Map Page. Please check them out.
